But first, what is matcha? Matcha is a form of green tea that comes in a powder, originating in Japan. Compared to regular green tea where you steep the leaves, with matcha you consume the whole leaf (in powder form) leading to suggest you are getting more antioxidants. Although matcha is caffeinated, according to this TIME article it does not pack the caffeine buzz like coffee does.
Another thing to note about matcha is its amazing health benefits. According to Healthline.com, matcha may improve brain function, prevent cancer, promote heart health, and is full of antioxidants. What’s not to love about this amazing tea!
